The Peninsula Tokyo is celebrating the arrival of spring with a selection of sweets and beverages based on the season’s iconic sakura (cherry blossoms).
A returning favorite of the hotel’s spring offerings is its Sakura Afternoon Tea (¥5,500), available at The Lobby from March 15 to April 30. Served on elegant tableware, this delightful tea set features savory finger foods and a collection of vibrant sakura-themed sweets, including scrumptious homemade scones topped with cherry blossom petals and sour cherries.
Those with a lingering craving for sweets should visit The Peninsula Boutique & Cafe where a skilled team of pastry chefs will prepare a euphoric selection of treats from March 9 to April 30. The beautifully crafted sakura-themed delights (¥700) include hōjicha (roasted tea) cake; St. Honore cake; and baba. An array of baked goods will also be available for guests to relish at the cafe or at home.
Seasonal cocktails (¥2,200) and mocktails (¥1,800) round out the sakura festivities at Peter: The Bar. From March 15 to April 30, the bar will serve two original cocktails: sake-based Fragrance with almond syrup, lemon juice and spicy cardamom, and Sakura Francoise with peach liqueur and tonic water. Prices do not include taxes and service charges.
