The Peninsula Tokyo in bustling Ginza is serving the Imperial Afternoon Tea, honoring The Peninsula Hotel’s iconic Afternoon Tea, which has been a long-standing tradition at its flagship hotel, The Peninsula Hong Kong.
At ¥100,000, guests can enjoy three hours — between noon and 6 p.m. — of the acclaimed Imperial Afternoon Tea from the residential comfort of a Deluxe Suite overlooking the beautiful Imperial Palace Gardens and Hibiya Park. Seasonal ingredients are crafted into petit fours, savories, homemade scones and indulgent sweets, which are accompanied by a selection of 20 teas, including organic teas from Los Angeles-based Art of Tea and free-flowing Dom Perignon Champagne. Subject to availability, the experience may be upgraded to either the magnificent The Peninsula Suite on the 23rd floor or The Hibiya Suite located on the 22nd floor. Guests may also order selected items from the room service menu, all the while enjoying the magical atmosphere of live music from a band in the suite. A dedicated butler, dressed in an authentic kimono, will be on hand to ensure a superlative teatime experience.
For a seamless transfer to the hotel, pickup in The Peninsula Tokyo’s bespoke Rolls-Royce is included — within Tokyo’s 23 wards — for the most elegant of arrivals. Reservation required seven days in advance.
