Japan is about to get much more pink. Sakura (cherry blossoms) begin blooming in earnest in March, and Grand Hyatt Tokyo is falling in stride with a dazzling assortment of sakura-themed offers from its shops and restaurants.
From early March through mid-April, the hotel’s first-floor Fiorentina Pastry Boutique will offer a variety of delightful desserts and pastries that are perfect to take to hanami (cherry blossom viewing) gatherings, including crispy sakura croissants, sakura tartlets, sakura eclairs, sakura roll cake and more.
Guests can visit The French Kitchen on the hotel’s second floor between March 11 and April 8 for Sakura and Strawberry Afternoon Tea. Starting at ¥3,800 on weekdays, guests can reserve a table between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to enjoy an endless buffet selection of sweet and savory items, as well as a unique ruby chocolate fountain and premium organic tea from Los Angeles-based brand Art of Tea.
People are invited to the hotel’s sixth floor for a decadent ¥2,000 Sakura Champagne sorbet cocktail at The Oak Door Bar. Available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. throughout April and May, the cocktail features homemade sakura sorbet, sakura-flavored syrup from Nagano Prefecture and a sprinkling of real sakura petals — it doesn’t get more seasonally inspired than that.
