Sakura (cherry blossoms) are renowned for their beauty and color that inspire chefs every spring. Selected eateries at Grand Hyatt Tokyo have created seasonal menus celebrating the iconic bloom.
Teatime adopts a blushing hue from March 16 until April 30 at the Sakura and Strawberry Afternoon Tea held at The French Kitchen. Unlimited desserts, including Sakura tiramisu, sakura financiers and dainty desserts featuring Amaou strawberries are designed to tempt, along with six spring-kissed savory bites. Sittings run for 90 minutes between 3 and 5 p.m. and are priced at ¥3,800 on weekdays and ¥4,200 on weekends and public holidays.
The Oak Door restaurant offers a cherry blossom-inspired Sakura Burger in a rosy sakura-scented bun. In a nod to hanami cherry blossom viewing parties, the dish forms part of a playful Sakura Picnic Basket lunch designed for two (¥5,500 per person) that comes with a bottle of rose Champagne and is available until April 30.
Also available is a selection of delightful desserts at Fiorentina Pastry Boutique. Of special note is the Sakura Roll Cake (¥2,000), as ethereal-looking as its floral namesake. Listed prices do not include taxes and surcharges.
