Diners are invited to enjoy the bright sunny days of summer at Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills with a dining offer that weaves the sights, sounds and tastes of France’s seasonal best.
Sitting 250 meters atop the city, The Rooftop Bar terrace whisks diners away to the lavender fields of Provence where guests can enjoy an afternoon tea and dinner in the garden.
Open until July 21, the afternoon tea runs on weekends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (last orders taken at 4:30 p.m.) with plans beginning at ¥4,500 (plus tax and service charge). Gallic techniques are the cornerstone of cookery here, the cooking high-spirited, but simple.
With menu items such as beetroot marinated salmon with a purple carrot cream canape, and roast beef with cassis mustard and berry-flavored crouton, the chefs pull out all stops in preserving the tastes of Provence, all the while using seasonal and fresh ingredients.
The dinner menu (from ¥10,000, runs 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.) is no less authentic, with ingredients such as tomatoes, saffron, peppers, anchovies, olive oil and wild herbs coming into play. Surrounded by elegant shades of purple, diners can savor a selection of Provence wines paired with rustic dishes of ratatouille and bouillabaisse, and desserts using lavender and Chantilly cream.
