In 2013 Sakura House made history by opening Japan's first share house and dormitory exclusively for Muslims — "Shibuya Yoyogi Uehara Friendly House for Muslims." Since then, it has opened Muslim-friendly apartments and a Muslim-friendly share house exclusively for women.
Additionally, Sakura House's vacation rentals, which are houses and apartments for families, groups and couples that started in summer of 2016, are also known to be Muslim-friendly. They are just perfect for stays for families, as well as groups attending conferences, meetings and exhibitions from a global background. The rooms with fully-equipped kitchens are designed especially for long-term stays by families and groups.
In the summer of 2016, Sakura House began offering Vacation Rental residences in Tokyo. In August, Sakura House opened their first vacation residence in the historic city of Kyoto, the first time they have expanded their reach beyond the Tokyo area. It is one of the city's iconic Machiya-type wooden townhouses — with a Japanese garden between the main house and the Kura storehouse — that features very modern furnishings and interiors, allowing residents to enjoy both the traditional and the new.
Sakura House is part of a family of companies that include hotels, restaurants & cafes, bars, art galleries and a business card printing company.
With the Tokyo Olympics on the horizon, the number of foreign guests visiting Japan is increasing at a rapid pace, including Muslims. Sakura House will continue meeting the guests' needs as they have since they first began providing the first residences back in 1992.
