Soccer World Cup field finalized
The flags of all the 32 nations that qualified for the 2010 World Cup are proudly flying in Johannesburg.
A flag-raising ceremony enlivened by dancers, a choir and giant soccer player puppets was held Nov. 19 at the offices shared by World Cup organizers and South African soccer authorities next to the stadium that will be the venue for the opening and closing matches.
The 32 nations will be drawn into eight groups Dec. 4 in Cape Town and the first World Cup in Africa kicks off June 11.
