Olympic security takes center stage
Beijing Olympic organizers said they were confident about security arrangements for the August games despite a Communist Party official's revelation that authorities had foiled a plot by Islamic terrorists targeting the event.
Few details have been released about the alleged plot nor an apparently unrelated attempt to crash a passenger jet March 7.
The government's failure to provide details and evidence has fueled speculation it was overstating the security threat to justify tough measures at the games.
