Pope Benedict XVI said April 2 the case to make Pope John Paul II a saint was progressing, indicating on the second anniversary of the pontiff's death that he supported canonization.
"In the communion of saints, it seems we can hear the living voice of our beloved John Paul II, who from the house of his father, continues to accompany the Church," Benedict said.
On April 2, documentation was received concerning the purported miraculous recovery of a French nun, Sister Marie-Simon-Pierre, who says she was cured of Parkinson's disease after she prayed to John Paul.
