Smith death continues to cause fuss

Bahamas Immigration Minister Shane Gibson resigned Feb. 8 in a flap over his relationship with Anna Nicole Smith after photos surfaced of him embracing the former Playboy playmate before her death.

Photos recently appeared in a newspaper showing Gibson in bed with Smith. They were fully clothed, but the pictures caused controversy because Gibson had fast-tracked Smith's application for permanent residency on the island chain.

"I want to apologize to all persons who may have been offended by anything that I have said, done, or perceived to have said or done," Gibson said, declaring that he was resigning.

Meanwhile, Smith's will, released Feb. 16, names her lawyer and boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, as her executor, stipulating that he hold her estate in trust for son Daniel Smith. But her son died last September at age 20 of apparently drug-related causes, days after the birth of the Smith's daughter, Dannielynn.
