California wildfire kills four

Authorities investigating an arson wildfire that killed four firefighters Oct. 26 questioned and released two "people of interest," while firefighters contained the remainder of the fire that had destroyed 34 homes during its fierce run in southern California, officials said.

Authorities said the fire was deliberately set at the base of a slope in Cabazon, west of Palm Springs. Cabazon residents have said they saw two men leaving the area where the fire began.

It was fully contained at 161 sq km., said Becky Luther, a California Department of Forestry spokeswoman.
