One Kuwaiti civilian was killed in the gunbattle that raged for nine hours in the Al-Qurain district, near the capital, the ministry said.

One of the arrested was Amer Khlaif al-Enezi, an alleged spiritual leader of militants who were involved in a series of clashes with security forces in January.
