North Koreans climb a wall of the South Korean Consulate grounds in Beijing

A group of North Korean men, women and children seeking asylum helped each other climb a wall into the South Korean Consulate grounds in Beijing on Oct. 18, but most were caught by Chinese guards or fled.
Some were attacked with an electric cattle prod by a guard, television footage of the asylum bid showed.
Security guards caught 11 of the 14 people who entered the compound at dawn, but consulate staff escorted two women and a boy into the building, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said.
The incident occurred just days after 29 people cut through barbed wire to enter a school for South Koreans in Beijing on Oct. 22.
A further 44 North Korean refugees are holed up at the Canadian Embassy in the Chinese capital and 24 others at the Japanese Embassy.
