The son of Singapore's founding father, Lee Kuan Yew, was sworn in as the city-state's third prime minister Aug. 12.
Lee Hsien Loong, 52, replaces Goh Chok Tong, who assumes the role of senior minister.
Lee's father, who remains broadly influential and who has been named by his son to the post of "minister mentor" in the new Cabinet, was sworn in alongside Goh and Deputy Prime Ministers Tony Tan and S. Jayakumar.
The younger Lee, who holds degrees from Cambridge University in Britain and Harvard in the United States, the military rank of brigadier general and speaks four languages, has been groomed to lead since his appointment as Goh's deputy in 1990.
