Disgraced International Olympic Committee Vice President Kim Un Yong was jailed for 2 1/2 years June 3 after being found guilty of corruption involving millions of dollars.
The 73-year-old once renowned as one of the most powerful men in world sports was convicted of diverting $3.3 million from South Korean sports organizations and accepting bribes from business contacts.
Kim, who was suspended from his IOC post last year, was ordered to pay back $679,000 embezzled during his reign as the country's sports czar.
The IOC executive board provisionally stripped Kim of all his Olympic duties Jan. 23, pending investigations by South Korean authorities and the IOC ethics commission.
