Second U.S. rover arrives
NASA's Opportunity rover landed on Mars on Jan. 24 and sent a signal that it had finished its nearly seven-month journey in good condition, engineers at the space agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, said.
Opportunity touched down on Meridiani Planum, a smooth plain near Mars' equator on the other side of the planet from its twin rover, Spirit.
