Miki Ando produced a solid free skate to come from behind and claim victory in her Grand Prix season debut at the Rostelecom Cup on Oct. 24 in Moscow. Third after the short program Oct. 23, Ando stumbled on a double axel-triple toe combination but was near perfect the rest of the way, earning 171.93 points to beat American Ashley Wagner (163.97) and Russian Alena Leonova (160.06).

"I wanted to show the audience the queen and the normal woman," she said of her Cleopatra-theme program.
