Balinese arrested for killing Japanese
Indonesian police have arrested a suspect in the death of a 33-year-old Japanese tourist who was found dead Sept. 28 on the resort island of Bali, a police officer said Oct. 3.
Wilmar Marpaung, detective unit chief at Bali Police Headquarters, said the suspect, identified only as a 37-year-old man named David, was arrested Oct. 2 in the town of Malang in East Java province.
Rika Sano of Kanagawa Prefecture was found dead Sept. 28 in a thicket in the Kuta beach resort area after going missing early Sept. 25.
According to Marpaung, David was implicated after police found a digital music player belonging to him near Sano's body.
