The amount of the substance found is not harmful, the officials said, adding the city has so far received no reports of health problems.
The product, a pastry shaped like a panda face and made with milk from major Chinese dairy Yili, is one of the products that Marudai announced it was voluntarily recalling.
On Sept. 26, Marudai, based in Takatsuki, Osaka Prefecture, announced that melamine had been found in four of the six food products it sold.
