Man leaves family dead in Chiba
Police found four members of a family, including a young girl, dead at their home in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, on June 24 after a call from a man saying he had killed his entire family.
Yoshio Kiuchi, 77, was arrested on suspicion of fatally battering his wife, Tokiko, 75, his son, Shigeru, 49, his daughter-in-law, Miyuki, 44, and 4-year-old granddaughter, Manami.
Police said they found a hammer covered in blood that is suspected to have been used in the murders.
"A man made an emergency call to police this morning, saying he killed his entire family," a police spokesman said June 24.
