Prosecutors demanded the death penalty Sept. 18 for a woman indicted on charges of killing two 5-year-olds last year in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, during her trial at the Otsu District Court.

Zheng Yongshan, 35, is accused of fatally stabbing Wakana Taketomo and Jin Sano on the morning of Feb. 17 last year while taking them in a car pool to kindergarten, together with her own daughter.
