Naval academy raided over 'leak'
Navy and local police raided a naval academy on May 19 over the alleged leak of sensitive warship technology data shared between Japan and the United States.
The leak involves U.S.-developed technology for high-tech Aegis radar used on several Japanese destroyers and also on U.S. warships carrying missile interceptors.
It comes at a particularly sensitive time for the allies as they accelerate their joint missile defense system amid North Korea's missile and nuclear threat.
Defense officials acknowledged the raid May 19, but refused to provide details.
