Isetan and Tokyu become partners
Isetan Co. and Tokyu Department Store Co. have reached a basic partnership agreement, including joint product development and the integration of sales information systems.
The two Tokyo-based department store operators, as well as Tokyu Corp., a railway company, which owns Tokyu Department Store, announced the deal March 27.
Under the agreement, Isetan and Tokyu Department store will jointly develop original products and integrate systems for managing sales and customer data to help boost profitability.
Isetan will dispatch an executive in charge of sales to Tokyu Department Store to support its operations. By introducing Isetan's reputedly efficient business know-how, Tokyu Department store hopes to improve its earnings.
