Nagoya contractors raided
Prosecutors on Jan. 22 raided the headquarters of major contractors Kajima Corp., Obayashi Corp. and Shimizu Corp. for evidence they were involved in corruption regarding bids for a subway extension project in Nagoya, investigative sources said.
The prosecutors suspect joint ventures formed by the contractors helped rig bids for the Sakuradori Line extension ordered last February and June by the Nagoya Municipal Government's transportation bureau, the sources said.
