Ex-NHK reporter gets seven years The Otsu District Court sentenced a former reporter of the public broadcaster NHK to seven years in prison on Jan. 23 for arson and attempted arson in Shiga and Osaka prefectures in 2005. Hirofumi Kasamatsu, 25, was indicted for a total of seven cases of arson and attempted arson in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, between April and May 2005 and one case of attempted arson in Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture, in June that year.
