Sanyo Shinpan suspended Sanyo Shinpan Finance Co. on Jan. 15 suspended operations at all of its 920 outlets nationwide through Jan. 26 under a punitive order issued to the loan company by the Financial Services Agency for falsifying documents. Japan's seventh-largest consumer finance company, known for its Pocket Bank outlets, was found to have falsified internal documents to avoid repaying in full the amount of excessive interest it had collected from customers. During the suspension period, the Fukuoka-based company cannot solicit new customers or offer or collect loans.
