Kaoru Kobayashi "molested the girl in order to fulfill his abnormal sexual desire and killed her when she resisted, fearing the assault would be exposed," Presiding Judge Tetsuya Okuda said. "He was selfish and there are no extenuating factors at all."

Finding the 37-year-old former newspaper deliveryman guilty on all eight counts of crimes including molestation, blackmailing and damaging a corpse, Okuda said it is extremely difficult to correct his personality as he shows no signs of remorse or motivation to be corrected.
