OBITUARY Inumaru dies in apparent suicide The original creator of Ojaru Maru, a popular NHK animation program for young children, was found dead in an apparent suicide on the roof of a building next to her condominium in Musashino, western Tokyo, police said Sept. 11. Rin Inumaru, 48, who created cartoons, picture story books for children and novels, left a note at her home to her mother that said, "I'm not good at my job." Ojaru Maru, aired daily on NHK, is a story of a 5-year-old prince from 1,000 years ago who time travels to modern day Japan. Inumaru created the settings and characters of the story.
