Crown Prince Naruhito and his family, on a two-week trip to the Netherlands, visited former royal stables with Queen Beatrix and her family Aug. 18 in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn.
The crown prince family arrived in the Netherlands on Aug. 17, and they will return to Tokyo on Aug. 31. They are staying at Het Oude Loo, a 15th-century castle, as guests of the Dutch royal family.
The royal family's summer vacation is aimed at helping Crown Princess Masako recover from a stress-related illness. While little of the family's itinerary is disclosed, they may meet with Masako's parents during their stay.
