4-year-old girl dies of O-157
A 4-year-old girl in Kyoto Prefecture died July 17 after being infected with the O-157 strain of E. coli bacteria, the local government's Health Measure Office said.
The girl was hospitalized July 12 after complaining of symptoms such as fever since July 8. The bacteria were detected July 14.
The office said there have been no reports of health problems from her parents or children at the nursery school she attended.
