While Naoko Takahashi, Sydney Olympic champion, made a dramatic comeback to full marathon racing to win the Tokyo International Women's Marathon on Nov. 20, Ai Miyazato, Japan's LPGA sensation, shot a course record-tying 65 in a final-round charge to win the Elleair Ladies Open in Ehime Prefecture, climbing to the top of the Japan LPGA money rankings.
The previous day in Paris, astonishing 15-year-old Mao Asada turned in a brilliant free skate performance to win her first senior figure skating title at the Trophee Bompard, the fourth leg of this year's Grand Prix series.
