Haneda handicapped
Radio interference temporarily disrupted an aircraft guidance system at Haneda airport Oct. 17, causing flight delays by disrupting a terminal radar landing system that controls landing one of the runways. The glitch forced incoming airplanes to suspend instrument landings using the system for nearly three hours.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications is trying to identify the dispatcher of the unwanted signals, suggested to have emanated from a U.S. Navy vessel at Yokosuka, 30 km away.
