Driver shoots at cars on turnpikes
Two cars driving on expressways in Wakayama Prefecture were shot at Sept. 26 by a man in another car in apparent random assaults, police said. No one was wounded in either shooting.
A window in a car driven by a 22-year-old man from Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, was shattered when it was shot at by a man in a silver car on the Hanwa Expressway at around 2:40 a.m., police said.
Another car carrying a family of four was shot at from behind 15 minutes later by what appeared to be the same man on the Yuasa-Gobo Expressway.
On the same day, a passenger car stopping at a red light was fired at from a car next to it on a highway in Toda, Saitama Prefecture, with bullets shattering the passenger side window.
