The man on trial in the kidnap-murder of a 7-year-old Nara girl last November said in court June 13 he used e-mail to tell a stranger of the crime before dumping the victim's body.
Kaoru Kobayashi, 36, told the Nara District Court that he sent a message saying, "I've done what I shouldn't have done," when he was tak ing the body to the roadside ditch where he dumped it.
Kobayashi said he and the stranger exchanged e-mail messages several times, but the stranger stopped replying when he wrote, "I kidnapped and killed a child in Nara."
Kobayashi, a newspaper deliveryman, has admitted kidnapping and killing Kaede Ariyama on Nov. 17 while she was walking home from school.
