Crown Princess Masako will visit Nagano Prefecture to attend the 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games to be held Feb. 26 and 27 after staying away from most of her duties because of an "adjustment disorder," the Imperial Household Agency said Feb. 14.
Crown Prince Naruhito will attend the opening ceremony of the sports event for mentally challenged people Feb. 26 on his own. The princess will join her husband the next day, their aides said.
The upcoming trip to Nagano would be her first official trip outside Tokyo since November 2003, when she attended the opening ceremony of a national sports competition for disabled people held in Shizuoka Prefecture.
