Teenager wins best actor award at Cannes

Teenager Yuya Yagira was the surprise winner May 22 of the best actor award at the 57th Cannes Film Festival for his performance in Nobody Knows.
The 14-year-old Yagira is the first Japanese to win the best actor award at Cannes and the youngest winner of the award in the festival's history.
The movie, directed by Hirokazu Koreeda, is based on a true story about four siblings trying to live on their own in a Tokyo apartment after being abandoned by their mother. Yagira plays the eldest of the siblings.
