Hostages billed for flight home
The three Japanese hostages who returned home from Iraq on April 18 have been handed a bill for ¥2.37 million to cover their plane tickets home and other miscellaneous expenses, a Foreign Ministry official said April 26.
Aid workers Noriaki Imai, 18, and Nahoko Takato, 34, and free-lance photojournalist Soichiro Koriyama, 32, were being billed in the same manner as other Japanese civilians who have been transported home after getting into trouble overseas, the official said.
The families of the three have paid for their medical checkups in Dubai and their accommodation there, he said.
