Abundant cherry blossoms celebrate the coming of spring
In celebration of the flower viewing season, an abundance of cherry blossom boughs and blossoms — each standing 3 meters tall — will decorate The Peninsula Tokyo's lobby from March 22 to April 1.
To commemorate the coming of spring, The Lobby will serve Sakura Afternoon Tea daily for ¥5,000 per person. Savory seasonal finger foods and desserts inspired by sakura (cherry blossoms) will be presented on an elegant silver tree stand, complemented by a selection of 20 teas. This year's set includes sakura strawberry lamington, cherry biscuit choux pastry, lemon blueberry tartlet, sakura jelly panna cotta, savory croque madame and a smoked salmon sandwich. For lunch and dinner, a limited Sakura prix fixe menu can also be enjoyed from March 19 to April 15.
The Ohanami Afternoon Set will be available between March 19 and April 15 at Peter. Priced at ¥5,000, the colorful bento accompanied by a glass of sake is filled with tantalizing hot and cold morsels including trout salad, fresh asparagus and prosciutto, crab cake, and mini Peter burgers. Delight in a lemon and blueberry tart, sakura strawberry lamington and divine chocolate hazelnut cake to complete the meal. The Boutique will also be filled with a line of sakura desserts, bread and pastries, including sakura chocolates, elegant sakura-infused chocolate bars, scones, and Danish pastry with sakura bean paste.
At the signature Hei Fung Terrace Cantonese restaurant, the Sakura Lunch Menu (¥4,980) will highlight a charming trio of dim sum dishes, as well as chicken with savory chili sauce, minced beef pie, wok-fried sakura shrimp noodles and an almond tofu dessert with strawberry soup and tapioca.
Prices for all food and beverage items from The Peninsula Boutique are subject to 8 percent tax, and offerings from The Boutique & Cafe and restaurants are subject to 8 percent tax and a 15 percent service charge.
