About the Event
This inaugural JT International School & Education Fair aims to provide the platform and opportunities for parents whom are considering and looking for international education in Japan for their children.
Meet the representatives of the participating schools all at one venue to discover your children potential international education in Japan.
To get more insights on the development of International Education in Japan, we also plan a panel discussion which will discuss the Benefits of International Education in Japan, more details of the programs planned for this fair below;

Moderator

KRIS KOSAKA
Kris Kosaka started her career in international education after teaching literature for five years in America. From 1996, she has taught a variety of international curriculums throughout Japan, including the International Baccalaureate and the International Middle Years Curriculum from Fieldwork Education. She currently lectures in the Faculty of International Studies at Meiji Gakuin University.
Panels

ANGELA FUJIMORI
Angela Fujimori has been the Director of PAL International School for 11 years. She has lived in Japan for 18 years and is married to her Japanese husband, with their 7 year old bi-lingual daughter. She studied Child Care and Education in Australia as well as Psychology at the University of Queensland. She gained her Bachelor of Law in 2008 from Charles Darwin University. Before coming to Japan, Angela was the Director of a Child Care Centre in Woorabinda Australia, an Aboriginal Community, working with children with disadvantages.

DR. MARGARET M. FITZPATRICK
She received her Ph.D. degree in International Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and M.A. degree in Communication with an emphasis on writing from Stanford University. Her extensive experience in international education includes international schools, undergraduate and graduate schools, secondary schools and other educational institution in the U.S.A, Albania, Egypt, Kuwait, China, Korea and a number of other countries. Dr. Fitzpatrick specializes in curriculum development and teacher training.

DR. ALAN BRENDER
Alan Brender is an educator with over 30 years experience in Japan. He has been the Dean of Lakeland University Japan for ten years. He was Director of Writing Programs at Temple University Japan for 18 years. He has taught at such Japanese universities as Waseda, Hitotsubashi and Kyorin. For six years, he was the Japan correspondent for the Chronicle of Higher Education in which capacity he interviewed Mombugakusho officials as well as presidents of such universities as the University of Tokyo, Osaka University, Keio University and many other people involved in higher education. He was also a contributor to the South China Morning Post and has published over 20 books and hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles. Dr. Brender is a highly respected educator in Japan who has been on many higher education committees and who has made numerous academic presentations.

AIKO SHIGETA, INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL GRADUATE STUDENTAiko Shigeta lived her childhood years overseas in the States and Malaysia, and returned to Japan when she was 15. At first her parents thought of putting her into a Japanese high school, but they changed their mind and decided to put her into an International school. She spent her high school years at Columbia International School in Saitama. In her final year, she visited several Japanese universities that offered liberal arts, but could not find the best match. However she found Temple university that offered an American curriculum, and decided to continue her English education there. After graduating university, she started her new career at a logistics company in Japan.

Master builder (Lego master) Yoshihiro Osawa
Osawa is a 32-year-old who was born in May 1985 in Osaka. He started playing with LEGO blocks when he was in kindergarten. His fascination towards LEGO blocks has kept growing through years that he even made his class assignments and graduation production of college with LEGO blocks.
In 2010, he won the champion title of "TV champion Lego blocks championship"; one of TV Tokyo's popular television programs.. He has made over 100 works so far, and has held solo exhibitions three times. Characters are his specialty works.
"The main charm of LEGO blocks is that it allows you to express what you imagined. It also has a sort of hidden charm that it performs as a communication tool to help me becoming acquainted with many people."
