Funds given to Tamiflu researcher
Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., the Japanese importer-seller of the Tamiflu anti-flu drug, has provided ¥10 million over five years to a Yokohama City University researcher whose studies deny a causal relationship between the drug and abnormal behavior observed among some people who had taken it, university sources said March 13.
Researcher Shumpei Yokota said, "Research on Tamiflu has been conducted by several co-researchers scientifically on the basis of making information public, and scholarship donation will not have any impact on the research result."
