Jobless rate falls to 4.6% The unemployment rate fell to 4.6 percent in September, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, the government said Oct. 29. The number of people unemployed fell by 370,000 from a year earlier to 3.09 million after a 16th straight month of decline, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said. The unemployment rate for men fell 0.1 percentage points to 4.8 percent while that for women declined 0.4 percentage points to 4.2 percent, the ministry said.
