Perhaps one day there will be a book called The China That Can Say No, though it does not seem necessary.
U.S. President Barack Obama shortened his stay in Japan by one day, but kept his three-night engagement with China, visiting Shanghai and Beijing. Japan, as the usual first stop in Asia for U.S. officials, cannot be neglected, but China commands attention.
In Beijing, a fawning Obama credited China with saving the United States from a great recession, but Chinese President Hu Jintao would not budge on human rights or the value of the yuan. China has the upper hand and allowed Obama to save face by discreetly rejecting his advances.
This is my last issue and I will continue to look forward to reading the Weekly. I hope our readers will as well. Thank you for your support.
