Introduction
Where the Future Takes Root
Osaka Metropolitan University is the largest public university in Japan. We opened our doors as OMU in April 2022 through the merger of Osaka City University and Osaka Prefecture University.
We have 12 undergraduate schools and 15 graduate schools, with more on the way. The Graduate School of Drug Discovery Sciences opens in April 2026.
OMU aims to be a global institute of advanced research and a leading university teaching students in a wide range of academic fields.
Our campuses are in key areas of Osaka, including the Morinomiya Campus near Osaka Castle. This campus opens in late 2025.
