Aso Cabinet (Formed September 24, 2008)
JUSTICE MINISTER
Eisuke Mori

Date of birth: Aug. 31, 1948
LDP faction: Aso
Electoral district: Lower House; Chiba No. 11 (sixth term)
This is the first Cabinet post for Mori, 60, since he was elected to the Lower House in 1990.
Though his father and grandfather were lawmakers, he is not related to former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori. Takeo Miki, a former prime minister, is his uncle.
A graduate of the school of engineering at Tohoku University, he worked for Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. before becoming a lawmaker. His research on nuclear power plants earned him a doctorate in engineering from Nagoya University, a rare degree for a politician.
He served for a year from September 2003 as the vice minister of health, labor and welfare under Junichiro Koizumi. He has chaired several Lower House and LDP committees, and served in other executive positions in other ministries.
He likes to play country music on the guitar.
