Irene Poh, an accountant who hails from Singapore, bought a pre-owned car using MyToyota.jp's bilingual Car Buyer's Assistant Service. Here's what Irene had to say about her experience:
Did you have any difficulties or worries in purchasing a car before using the MyToyota service? If so, what were they?
Yes, the inability (of Japanese dealers) to speak English and that we would have to pay a premium because we had no choice but to go through "gaijin-speaking" dealers.
Overall, how would you rate the service?
Extremely good -- customer service and support was wonderful.
What aspects of the MyToyota service did you like best?
The MyToyota staff were very patient and helpful in looking for a car that matched my requirements (model, age, price, mileage, accessories, insurance recommendation, etc.), and the support was there from the beginning to the completion of the purchase. I thought I was a bit fussy, but the ladies did not seem to mind at all. And I love the friendly service.
What car model did you buy?
A 2004 Toyota Corolla Spacio.
Are you satisfied with it?
Very much so.
What do you like best about your car?
It's compact and well suited for the small Japanese residential streets. And it looks neat.
What do you like best about owning a car in Japan?
Driving around and discovering little corners of the city.
What did you take into account the most when choosing and purchasing your car?
Size as well as seating capacity. The Spacio can seat up to seven people with the "booth-seat" opened up, which is necessary when we have visitors.
What did you like best about MyToyota's interpretation service?
Very friendly and efficient. Without the interpretation service, I am sure we would have paid a much higher price for the same car with other dealers.
What features on the MyToyota Web site did you find most helpful?
The specification for the vehicle was very clear and easy to complete. No fuss and no waste of time.
How do you rate the customer service at your dealership?
A 10 out of 10.
Would you recommend the service to others? If so, why?
Of course. MyToyota's service made car buying a stress-less and happy experience.
Do you have any additional comments or thoughts about your Mytoyota car-buying experience?
Interestingly, I would not have thought car-buying would fall into what I would classify as one of the wonderful experiences to take away from this country, but in this case, it will be!
