B-Corsairs crush Five Arrows

The Yokohama B-Corsairs turned up the intensity in the second half and routed the hapless Takamatsu Five Arrows, winning 98-78 on Friday in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture.

Takamatsu (2-45) lost its 20th consecutive game. Coach Kenzo Maeda's bj-league club hasn't won since a 79-76 victory over the Toyama Grouses on Jan. 28.

Justin Burrell paced Yokohama (26-21) with 20 points and seven rebounds. Draelon Burns and Masayuki Kabaya each scored 18 points and Takeshi Hotta poured in 11. Pape Faye Mour and Chas McFarland each added eight points, Marcus Simmons scored seven and Kenji Yamada chipped in with nine rebounds and six assists. McFarland contributed nine rebounds and two blocks.

Yokohama, an expansion team, had 21 assists and six turnovers.

The B-Corsairs trailed 47-43 at the half, then outscored the Five Arrows 32-13 in the third quarter.

Paul Butorac paced Takamatsu with 26 points, Nyika Wiliams had 19 points with 10 boards and Makoto Kita scored 10 points.
