In a back-and-forth fourth quarter, the score was tied at 62-62, 64-64, 66-66 and 68-68. Takeshi Mito, who had 17 points and five assists for the Grouses (17-35), drained a 3-pointer to give his team a 71-70 lead with 56 seconds left.

Brian Harper had a team-high 18 points and 11 rebounds for Toyama.

Michael Chappell paced the Apache (22-30) with 19 points, while Ashby added 14 points and grabbed 14 boards.
