Sendai 89ers forwards Rodney Webb and Bobby St. Preux are the bj-league's co-MVPs for March, the league announced on Tuesday. The frontcourt mates helped the 89ers win eight of nine games last month and improve to 25-19 at week's end. Webb, who joined the squad in late January after playing for the Toyama Grouses, averaged 21.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in March. Overall, he is the league's No. 7 scorer at 19.7 points per game. St. Preux, the league's fourth-leading scorer (22.1 ppg), averaged 21.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the same span. He had four or more 3-pointers in six March contests. In related news, Niigata Albirex BB swingman Emmanuel Little is the Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week. Little, a former University of North Dakota player, flourished in multiple ways on Sunday with a 14-point, 12-rebound, 10-assist effort against the Saitama Broncos. Little added 13 points and eight boards in the series opener to help the Albirex earn a series sweep. |
