Niigata Albirex BB point guard Akitomo Takeno is only 23 years old, but already he is one of the bj-league's most explosive offensive performers.
Takeno, the Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week, scored 26 points in 19 minutes on Feb. 4, and didn't miss a shot in the game. He was 8-for-8 from the field, including 5-for-5 from 3-point range. He also knocked down all five of his free-throw attempts in a road win over the Tokyo Apache.
A day later, Takeno was 3-for-6 on 3-point shots and scored 14 points in the Albirex's series-closing win.
Takeno is Niigata's second-leading scorer (13.2 points per game).
Though he has come off the bench in each of the last eight games, Takeno continues to thrive on offense.
