Ryukyu Golden Kings guard Shigeyuki Kinjo is the first Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week for the 2008-09 season, the bj-league announced on Tuesday. The award is for games from Oct. 11-19.

The 23-year-old native of Okinawa began the season with a superb shooting game, making 6 of 7 3-pointers and scored 22 points in the Golden Kings' 108-90 victory over the Rizing Fukuoka on Oct. 11. A day later, he scored 15 points as his team improved to 2-0 with a 96-83 win over Fukuoka.
